What to Do Before and After Your Lash Appointment

What To Do Prior To Your Lash Appointment

Having beautiful eyelash extensions is a great way to enhance your look, but there are certain steps you need to take in order to ensure a successful application. Here are some tips to help you get the best results:

  • Remove all eye makeup prior to your appointment. Make sure to use a mild, oil-free cleanser to avoid any irritation and reduce the chances of the adhesive not bonding to the natural lashes.
  • Avoid applying any creams or sunblocks around the eye area. The oil can prevent the eyelash adhesive from sticking and reduce the longevity of the extensions.
  • Do not put on any mascara beforehand. This can take a lot of time to remove and could stop the extensions from sticking properly.
  • Do not curl your lashes on the day of your appointment. Extensions will not stick to crimped lashes and this could result in an unsuccessful application.
  • Make sure to turn off your phone while the extensions are being applied. Precision is key and so talking in the treatment room should be avoided.
  • If you currently have lash extensions on, make sure to book a removal service on your first visit. This will help to avoid any issues with different adhesives and materials used at other salons.

Following these simple tips will ensure that you get the best results from your eyelash extension appointment. With the right preparation, you can create a beautiful, natural look that will last for days.

What To Do After Your Eyelash Appointment

Eyelash extensions can give you an extra boost of confidence, but they require special care to keep them looking great and lasting as long as possible. Here are some of our top tips for taking care of your lash extensions:

  • Gently handle your new lashes. To ensure your extensions last as long as they should, be sure to avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours, and refrain from touching or rubbing them.
  • Avoid swimming, steam rooms, saunas, or extreme heat for 48 hours after application.
  • Use only non-oily/non-creamy formulas to remove eye makeup, and avoid oil-based products (e.g. oil-based eye makeup, makeup remover, moisturizer, cleanser, sunscreen) on or near your lashes.
  • Be careful when removing makeup in the eye area, and avoid rubbing your eyes or running water directly on your lashes.
  • When sleeping, try to avoid laying directly on your face so as not to press against your eyelashes.
  • Mascara is not recommended for eyelash extensions. If you must wear it, be sure to go with a water-based formula only.
  • Use an eyelash comb to straighten out any loose, stray lashes. Remember to be gentle when doing this.
  • Do not pull on any loose extensions or you risk plucking out your natural eyelashes.
  • Schedule regular touch-up appointments to maintain your extensions.
